No. Everything you use on your own works without an account; your data stays on your device and can be backed up to iCloud (iPhone) or Google Drive (Android). You only need an account to share your pets with your family.
With Premium, create an invite code under More → Family. The others join with a free account; you approve them and choose who sees which pet.
Subscriptions run through the App Store or Google Play and can be cancelled there at any time in your account's subscription settings. Deleting the app does not end a subscription.
